Baseball's Zollie
Woodlief earns
Academic
All-District honors

The
North Carolina
Wesleyan Department
of Athletics is
pleased to announce
that senior third
baseman Zollie
Woodlief (pictured)
has been named to
the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA
Academic All-District
Team. A Business
Administration
major, the Wake
Forest native was a
Second Team
selection and one of
21 student-athletes honored in District
3.
To be nominated, a
player must be at least
a sophomore academically
and have a cumulative
grade point average of
at least a 3.2 on a 4.0
scale.
This award is one of
several the senior has
collected in the past
few weeks. Thusfar this
season, Woodlief has
been named a First Team
USA South All-Conference
performer, a USA South
All-Tournament
selection, baseball's
Scholar Athlete of the
Year, and the NC
Wesleyan Department of
Athletics Male
Student-Athlete of the
Year.
More importantly, he has
helped lead his Battling Bishops to both the USA South
Regular Season and Tournament Championships. In fact,
Woodlief currently leads the team with a .359 batting
average and eight homeruns, while his 42 RBI rank second on
the squad. He looks to continue his stellar season when he
leads his Bishops into NCAA Tournament Regional play next
week in Salisbury, MD.
