- This summer, the
NC Wesleyan football program is proud to
have two of its own join the Carlstad Crusaders, a
member of the Super Series Football League in
Sweden! Assistant Coach Max Warner will be serving
as offensive coordinator, while USA South Player of
the Year and Bishop product Cedric Townsend
(pictured) will be one of two quarterbacks on the
roster. The two are currently overseas and will be
providing a weekly blog for fans to enjoy.

Ginn accepts
position at GVSU; Henninger named head coach

- The North Carolina Wesleyan
Department of Athletics has announced that Jack Ginn has
stepped down as head football coach of the Battling
Bishop football program and has accepted a position at
Division II powerhouse Grand Valley State University.
In light of Ginn’s decision, NCWC Director of Athletics
John Thompson is pleased to introduce former assistant
Mark Henninger (pictured) as the second head football
coach in program history.

LeeRon Boykin named
Wesleyan's first football All-American
Rocky Mount, NC
- In a year marked by
tremendous success on the gridiron, the North Carolina
Wesleyan football team recently added another feat to its
growing list of accomplishments when sophomore LeeRon Boykin
was tabbed the program's first All-American. A native
of Warsaw, NC and an Honorable Mention selection at
defensive lineman, he qualified for All-American status when
he was named a First Team All-South Region performer by
D3Football.com. Boykin (pictured), in fact, was one of
four NCWC players to earn All-Region status.

Davis helps
Team USA earn 37-19 Aztec Bowl win over Mexico

Mexico
- North Carolina Wesleyan
football player Jezreel Davis recently became the Blue &
Gold's first-ever representative in the Aztec Bowl,
which featured the American Football Coaches Association’s
Division III all-star team against the Mexican National Team
on Saturday, December 8th. The United States came away
with a 37-19 win and is now 10-1 against Mexico in the
series. Defensively, Davis (pictured) did his part by tallying
three tackles in the game.

Leaving
their tracks... Honoring football's first senior class
Rocky
Mount, NC - The 2007 season marks the first senior
class for head coach Jack Ginn, and he is proud to honor
the 25 young men that have helped him build the North
Carolina Wesleyan football program. Because of their
dedication and determination, the Blue & Gold have
quickly made a name for themselves as one of the elite
programs in Division III. This season alone saw
Wesleyan add to its list of "firsts" by turning
in its first USA South Championship as the only team to ever go
undefeated in league play.
