Jordan passes for over 300 yards, NCWC downs

Ferrum,
VA - Junior Bo Jordan became the first North
Carolina Wesleyan quarterback in program history
to turn in a 300-yard passing game with his
performance on Saturday at Ferrum College.
Jordan (pictured) completed 18-of-26 attempts
for a record 311 yards as his Battling Bishops
cruised to a 41-14 victory over the Panthers on
the road. With the win, Wesleyan improves to 5-4
overall, 4-2 in USA South action.
Jordan
was not the only Bishop breaking records in the
contest as freshman tailback Tyreck McFadden
joined in on the action in what proved to be a
decisive third quarter. Tied 14-14 at the
half, McFadden put distance between the Bishops
and Panthers by recording three touchdowns in
the period. He began with four- and three-yard
runs before breaking loose for an 84-yard
scamper that put Wesleyan on top 34-14 going
into the fourth. The 84-yard run is the longest
in Bishop history, while McFadden becomes just
the fourth NCWC player to turn in three rushing
TDs in a game.
Both
teams managed a touchdown in the fourth.
The Bishops' came on a 70-yard TD strike from
Jordan to sophomore wideout Laqwan Brodie.
In the
first half, Wesleyan's Stedman Mathis and
Ferrum's Mike Vann traded two rushing scores
apiece to set up the 14-14 halftime tie.
McFadden
finished with 147 rushing yards and Mathis 132
to pace the Bishops' ground attack. Through the
air, junior Orlando Webb hauled in seven of
Jordan's passes for 96 yards. On defense,
freshman Alex Flores had a six tackles, while
the Bishops tallied three sacks and three fumble
recoveries as a team.
For the
Panthers (7-2, 5-1 USAC), Vann finished with 143
rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Devin
Genchi recorded a game-high 10 tackles defensely.
The
Bishops set yet another offensive record with
600 total yards on offense in the contest.
Ferrum was limited to just 376 on the day.
Wesleyan
will return home for their regular
season finale next Saturday versus
Greensboro College, a day that will also serve as
Homecoming and Senior Day.
