Hall's 29 gives Wesleyan hoopsters 76-72 win over Arcadia

Ashland, VA - Senior guard Lenny Hall (pictured) poured in a game-high 29 points on Monday night, leading his North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball squad to a 76-72 win over Arcadia University in the consolation game of the Randolph-Macon Briggs Elliot Classic.  The Bishops, who lost to Muhlenberg College by a 72-61 score in Sunday's opening round, are now 5-4 overall.

Against Arcadia, Wesleyan led by as many as 11 in the first half only to see AU put together a 15-0 run late in the period.  AU took a slim 42-40 lead into the break.

Arcadia maintained its lead for the first five minutes of the second half.  With 15:19 remaining, however, Hall tied the game at 50-50 when he converted a three-point play on an offensive put-back and free throw.  His jumper two minutes later put Wesleyan on top for good as the Bishops did not trail again the rest of the way.

In addition to Hall's 29, Trey Drake had 17 points and eight assists.  Buddy Williams added 10, while Adam Coleman pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.  As a team, the Bishops shot 52 percent from the floor and knocked down 20-of-25 free throws on the night.

Arcadia was led by Bobby Mulholland's 16 points.  AU shot just over 43 percent as a team.

In Sunday's action, Wesleyan shot just 32 percent from the floor in its 72-61 loss to Muhlenberg.  Jarmel Arrington turned in a team-high 20 points, while Hall added 18.  For his efforts, Hall was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Bishops will now break for the holidays before returning to action on January 5th and 6th at Villa Julie College's Legg Mason Tournament.  Wesleyan will face the University of Dallas in Saturday's first round action at 6:00 p.m.
