Coleman dominates
inside, Bishops cruise to 108-47 victory

Coleman poured in 16 points and grabbed a season-high 18
rebounds on Tuesday night, leading his Battling Bishops of
North Carolina Wesleyan to a 108-47 victory over Roanoke
Bible College in Everett Gymnasium. Coleman (pictured)
was 8-of-15 from the floor to pace Wesleyan down low. The
Bishops improve to 10-3 overall entering the start of USA
South play on Saturday.
In the first half, Wesleyan shot
nearly 56 percent from the floor en route to a 60-29
advantage at the break. The Bishops opened the game
with a 20-2 run and went on to knock down 25-of-45 attempts
from the floor.
Trey Drake and Alex Murray paced
Wesleyan with 11 points apiece in the period, while Terrance
Britton had 15 for the Flames.
The second half saw more of the same
from the Bishops as they outscored RBC 48-18. Coach
John Thompson was able to go deep into his bench, which
contributed 46 points on the night.
In addition to Coleman's performance,
Drake finished with 14 points and six assists.
Freshman Matt Doughterty turned in a career-high 12 points
on 5-of-8 shooting, while Domarius Thomas chipped in 15.
RBC was led by Britton's 17.
Charles Clark and Robert Daughtery added 12 and 10,
respectively.
The Bishops open up USA South play at
home on Saturday versus Shenandoah University on Take a Kid
to the Game Day.
Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m. in Everett Gymnasium, and
kids 12 and under will be admitted free.
