Schmedes'
gamewinner keeps NCWC perfect in league play
Rocky
Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's
soccer team remained perfect in USA South play on

University by a 4-0 score at Scalf Field. Junior
defender Benjamin Schmedes (pictured) scored the
eventual gamewinning goal in the 32nd minute for the
Battling Bishops, who have now out-scored their

mark when he and junior Robert Ivanovich executed a
perfect give-and-go. NCWC took its 1-0 lead into
intermission.
In the second half,
junior Danny Persson tallied scores in the 54th and
63rd minutes, the second of which was also assisted
by Ivanovich. The two goals were Persson's 13th and
14th of the season for a 3-0 NCWC lead.
At the 65:18 mark,
Wesleyan's Oliver Madejski completed the game's
scoring when he blasted home a Christopher Helms
pass for the 4-0 final.
