Wesleyan men's and women's tennis drop three matches

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's and women's tennis squads dropped three matches this week.  Both squads fell to Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday, while the men dropped a home contest with North Carolina Central on Saturday.  The Bishop men are now 5-5 overall.  Wesleyan's women are currently 4-8 on the season.

The NCWC men suffered two tough losses this week, beginning with Tuesday's 9-0 loss to visiting Virginia Wesleyan.  The Bishops did not fair much better on Saturday as they endured an 8-1 defeat at the hands of NC Central.  Daniel Pace and Drew McLachlan earned Wesleyan's lone point at #3 doubles.  The duo picked up an 8-4 win, their eighth of the season at the third slot.

On the women's side, the Bishops fell to VWC by a 7-2 score in their only action of the week.  Freshman Kaite Bright picked up a win at #5 singles, downing Olivia Cassero 4-6, 6-1, 10-6. Bright and teammate Crystal Lashley were also 8-3 winners at #3 doubles.

The Bishop women will travel to Salem College on Tuesday for a 3:00 p.m. match-up with the Spirits.  Both squads will be in action on Wednesday at Guilford College.
