Danville, VA - The Bishop volleyball squad of North Carolina Wesleyan dropped two USA South matches on Friday night, falling 3-1 to Greensboro College and 3-0 to host Averett.  Freshman Brittany Insley totaled 30 kills on the night.  With the two losses, Wesleyan is now 9-17 overall, 1-10 in conference play.

Against Greensboro, sophomore Sydney Bens turned in a solid performance with 17 kills and a game-high 19 digs.  Insley recorded 18 kills and 12 digs, while junior setter Caitlin George tallied 46 assists.

The Bishops, who earned a 30-21 win over the Pride in game one, fell in games two, three, and four by 30-21, 30-25, and 30-22 scores, respectively. As a team, Wesleyan recorded a solid .318 hitting percentage.

In the Averett game, Insley again paced the Bishops with a team-high 12 kills, while Bens anchored the defensive effort with 13 digs.  Scores from the match were 30-21, 30-15, and 30-23 as the Cougars remained undefeated in conference play at 11-0.

Wesleyan returns on Wednesday night when they travel to Meredith College for a 6:30 p.m. match-up with the Angels.  Meredith defeated the Bishops by a 3-1 score earlier in the season.
