Danville, VA - Sophomore setter Mackenzie Tingle (pictured) tallied 46 assists, 13 digs, and seven kills over two matches on Friday, leading her Battling Bishop volleyball squad to back-to-back 3-0 sweeps of Ferrum College and Averett University, respectively. Wesleyan has now won seven of its last eight matches to move to 9-7 on the season, and the Bishops remain perfect in USA South play at 5-0.

Versus Ferrum, set scores were 25-14, 25-18, and 25-14. The Bishops turned in a .227 hitting percentage as a team, while holding the Panthers to -.018 accuracy at the net.

Freshman Meredith Smith recorded a team-high 12 kills, followed closely by senior Brittany Insley with 11. Tingle managed a double-double with 28 assists and 10 digs, while junior Kelly George chipped in a game-high 13 digs.

Against host Averett, set scores were 25-19, 25-17, and 25-17. Insley amassed a game-high 11 kills, and Tingle dished out 18 assists. George again paced Wesleyan defensively with 17 digs to lead all players.

The Bishops return to action at home on Wednesday when Methodist University visits Everett Gymnasium. The conference tilt is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start and will feature both live stats and webcasting.
