Insley paces Bishop volleyball in 3-1 victory at Mary Washington

Fredericksburg, VA - Behind a game-high 19 kills and 16 digs by senior Brittany Insley (pictured), the North Carolina Wesleyan volleyball squad won its fifth straight contest on Tuesday night, downing the University of Mary Washington by a 3-1 score (25-13, 25-21, 13-25, 25-19). With the victory, NCWC moves to 17-9 on the season. The Battling Bishops are now 15-3 over their last 18 matches heading into this coming weekend's USA South Play Day at Mary Baldwin.

In addition to Insley's performance, junior Kelly George helped out her fellow USA South Player of the Week by turning in 16 digs. Mackenzie Tingle had 36 assists and two aces, while Meredith Smith and Barbara DeRatt recorded three blocks apiece.

For the Eagles, Laura Gomez tallied 13 kills and two aces. Anne Lutkenhaus added 12 kills and 13 digs.

The Bishops will take on host Mary Baldwin at noon on Saturday followed by a 2:00 p.m. match-up with Greensboro College. Wesleyan is currently 11-2 in conference play.
