Volleyball's Brittany Insley earns
NCCSIA All-State recognition

- The North
Carolina Collegiate Sports
Information Association has
announced its second annual College
Division All-State volleyball team.
North Carolina Wesleyan is pleased
to announce that sophomore middle
hitter Brittany Insley was chosen as
a Second Team selection.
Insley (pictured), one of just five
Division III athletes on the squad,
turned in a record-setting season
for the Bishops in 2007 and led head
coach Robin Pietryk's team to a
21-14 overall mark.

Volleyball falls in semifinals,
George ends Bishop career
Newport
News, VA
- North Carolina Wesleyan's
volleyball season came to an end on
Friday night as the Bishops fell 3-0
to top-seeded Christopher Newport in
the 2007 USA South Tournament
Semifinals. Game scores were
30-13, 30-19, and 30-25.
Wesleyan finishes the season with a
21-14 overall record and says
farewell to senior setter Caitlin
George (pictured), who will be
remembered as one of the best
players in program history.

All-Conference
awards for
volleyball and
soccer.
North Carolina
Wesleyan had 12
athletes earn
recognition,
while three
Bishops were
named to their
respective
All-Sportsmanship
teams.
Among the 12
honorees, there
were five First
Team picks, four
Second Team
picks, and three
Honorable
Mentions.
Sophomore
Brittany Insley
earned First
Team honors in
volleyball.

Semifinals with sweep

- The Bishop volleyball team of
North Carolina Wesleyan made quick
work of Ferrum College on Tuesday
night in Everett Gym, sweeping the Panthers
by a 3-0 score in
USA South Tournament quarterfinal
action. Game scores were
30-26, 31-29, and 30-18.
Sophomore Brittany Insley (pictured)
was dominant in a 20-kill, 8-block
performance. The Battling
Bishops improve to
21-13 overall and advance to
Friday's semifinals.

Bens' 18 kills gives Bishop netters
3-2 win over Ferrum

- Junior Sydney Bens (pictured)
recorded a team-high 18 kills and 22
digs to lead her North Carolina
Wesleyan volleyball squad to a 3-2
win over Ferrum College on Friday
night at Averett University.
The win, coupled with a Panther loss
to CNU later in the evening, gives
the Bishops a 4th-place finish in
the conference standings at 11-7.
The 11 league wins are a new program
record and assures that Wesleyan
will host the first round of the USA
South Tournament.
