Bishop runners open season at Salem College Invitational

Winston-Salem, NC - The Battling Bishop cross country team, led by first-year head coach Dominic Modise, opened up its 2007 season on Saturday at the annual Salem College Invitational.  Sophomore Juliana Richardson (pictured) led Wesleyan runners with a time of 26:45 in the 5K race, good enough for 14th place among 26 runners.  As a team, the Bishops had a score of 84 points with four runners competing.

Other Bishop runners included Jessica Pollard, who finished 20th with a time of 29:15, and Meghan Herd, who finished 24th at 33:19.  Tasheika Fulmore rounded out Wesleyan's scorers in 26th place with time of 35:31.

Salem's Rachel Fichthorn took individual medalist honors with a time of 20:34.

2. Meredith College    32 pts.
3. Guilford College     67 pts.
4. NC Wesleyan         84 pts.
