Wesleyan runners wrap up season at USA South meet

Greensboro, NC - The Battling Bishop cross country squad wrapped up its 2007 slate on Saturday, finishing eighth in the USA South Championship Meet held at Greenboro’s Stone Park.  Sophomore Juliana Richardson paced Wesleyan in the 6K race by turning in a time of 31:46.  Christopher Newport took home first place team honors, while Captain runner Amy Wampler finished first individually with a time of 24:25. more >

NCWC’s Richardson named to All-Sportsmanship team

Fayetteville, NC - The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its All-Conference awards for cross country. While the Bishops did not place a runner on the All-Conference squad, Wesleyan is pleased to announce that sophomore Juliana Richardson was named to the inaugural All-Sportsmanship team.  Richardson (pictured), a native of nearby Roanoke Rapids, has been the Battling Bishops’ lead runner all season entering Saturday's USA South Championship. more >

NCWC runners finish third at Methodist University Tri-Meet

Fayetteville, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan cross country squad traveled to Fayetteville, NC on Wednesday afternoon for its final tune-up before the USA South Championship meet on October 27th. The host Monarchs took first place with 20 points, followed by Fayetteville State University in second place with 43.  The Bishops finished third with 74 points and were led by Juliana Richardson's ninth place finish among the field of 20.  She complete the 5K race with a time of 27:02. more >

Wesleyan cross country falls at Peace Dual Meet

Raleigh, NC - With first and third place finishes, the cross country team of Peace College managed a win over North Carolina Wesleyan at Friday's dual meet between the two squads in Raleigh.  Pacer runner Ashley Simms took first place with a time of 23:34, while Bishop Juliana Richardson finished second with a time of 25:42. more >

Bishop runners open season at Salem College Invitational

Winston-Salem, NC - The Battling Bishop cross country team, led by first-year head coach Dominic Modise, opened up its 2007 season on Saturday at the annual Salem College Invitational.  Sophomore Juliana Richardson (pictured) led Wesleyan runners with a time of 26:45 in the 5K race, good enough for 14th place among 26 runners.  As a team, the Bishops had a score of 84 points with four runners competing. more >
