Bishops and Pride fight to 1-1 tie in women's soccer action

Greensboro, NC - North Carolina Wesleyan and Greensboro College fought to a 1-1 tie in Saturday evening's USA South women's soccer action, fighting rainy conditions throughout the 110-minute contest.  Down 1-0 thanks to a Tessa Hall goal in the 21st minute, NCWC senior Reva McCloud (pictured) found teammate Meredith Hester for the equalizer at the 35:00 mark to close out the game's scoring. Wesleyan is now 2-4-1 on the season, 0-1-1 in conference play.

An evenly played match throughout, Greensboro (3-4-2, 0-1-1 USAC) held a slight advantage in shots at 16-14. The Pride also registered eight corner kicks to the Bishops' five.

NCWC keeper Sarah Hess started in goal for the Bishops, making five saves on seven shots and allowing the lone goal to Hall.  Senior Bryanne Godfrey played the final 65 minutes between the pipes, facing nine shots and recording three saves.

GC keeper Katie Allegro played all 110 minutes in goal and made eight saves.

Wesleyan continues USA South play next Saturday when they return home to host Peace College. Game time is slated for 2:00 p.m. at Scalf Field.
