Rocky
Mount, NC -
North Carolina Wesleyan's women's soccer team won its second
straight contest on Saturday afternoon, downing Sweet Briar
College by a 2-1 score at Scalf Field. Freshman Katri
Snellman (pictured) scored her first collegiate goal to open
the scoring, and senior Meredith Hester netted the eventual

The game's three
goals all came within a four-minute span in the first half. Snellman's score came at the 31:30 mark off an assist from
freshman Amanda Michaels, while the Vixens answered just 1:20
later with a breakaway goal by Caitlin Swauger. Hester
netted the difference-maker at the 35:18 mark when she took
a through-ball from Kellie Simons and beat her defender in
the box.
Senior keeper Sarah
Hess made the 2-1 halftime lead stand up in the final 45
minutes of play by making
three saves in goal. SBC goalie Seanne Weekes recorded four
saves as the Bishops out-shot the Vixens 14-6 on the day.
