Three Bishop
athletes earn
Academic
All-District honors

North Carolina
Wesleyan Department
of Athletics is
pleased to announce
that three Battling
Bishop athletes have been named to
their respective ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA
Academic All-District
Teams. Junior
Mikey Case and
sophomore Meredith
Hester of women's
soccer, along with
senior Kyle Kuhn of
football, were each
honored in District
3.

has announced
its
All-Conference
awards for
volleyball and
soccer.
North Carolina
Wesleyan had 12
athletes earn
recognition,
while three
Bishops were
named to their
respective
All-Sportsmanship
teams.
Among the 12
honorees, there
were five First
Team picks, four
Second Team
picks, and three
Honorable
Mentions.
Junior Reva
McCloud and
sophomore
Meredith Hester
were chosen in
women's soccer.

Bishop women's soccer season
ends with tourney loss
Greensboro, NC -
North Carolina Wesleyan's
women's soccer team saw its 2007
season come to an end on Tuesday
afternoon with a loss to
Greensboro College in the USA
South Tournament's quarterfinal
round. The Pride forged a
2-0 halftime lead and added an
insurance goal late to secure
the 3-0 final. Wesleyan
finishes the season at 5-12-0.

regular season finale, 7-0
Danville, VA
- The Battling
Bishop women's soccer team
wrapped up its regular season
schedule on Sunday afternoon,
downing Averett University by a
7-0 score in Danville.
Sophomore Meredith Hester
(pictured) scored
the eventual game-winner in the
11th minute, while Joanne
Youngblood added two scores of
her own. Wesleyan (5-11-0,
4-5-0) enters next week's USA
South Tournament as
the #6 seed and will travel to
#3 Greensboro on Tuesday.

Lady
Captains shutout Bishops in conference
action, 3-0
Newport News, VA
- NC
Wesleyan and Christopher Newport’s women’s soccer
teams finally took the field on Friday afternoon
after the two teams were washed out due to rain on
Wednesday. The Captains scored three times in the
second half to defeat the Bishops by a 3-0 score and
improve to 11-6 overall, 7-1 in USA South play. The
Bishops are now 4-11 on the season, 3-5 in league
