Bishop women fall in season finale to Chowan, 6-3

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's tennis team saw its 2008 tennis season come to an end on Wednesday afternoon, falling to Chowan University by a 6-3 score. The Bishops had previously fallen to Ferrum College on Tuesday in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament. Freshman Jaime Galasso won both of her matches at #1 singles, while junior Ashley Ball picked up a singles and doubles win against the Hawks.

At Ferrum on Tuesday, Galasso scored Wesleyan's lone point in the 8-1 loss. The Bishops had previously fallen to the Panthers by a 6-3 score in Sunday's final regular season conference match. Galasso was again a winner at top singles and doubles, while Ball rounded out Wesleyan's scoring.

With four losses since Saturday, the Bishops failed to enter the win column in 2008 and finish the season with an 0-20 record.
