Bishop women's tennis fairs well at Methodist Fall Invitational

Fayetteville, NC - The Battling Bishop women's tennis team faired well at this past weekend's Methodist Fall Invitational, showing marked improvement en route to a 14-11 record in singles play. Wesleyan was led by freshman Kristin Seidel, who went 4-0 in singles action and won the "C" bracket championship.  All four of Seidel's wins were against USA South competition.

Seidel also teamed with freshman teammate Bristy Parker to go 1-1 in doubles play to secure a runner-up finish. Parker picked up her first singles win with an 8-6 decision over Meredith's Zannah Webster earlier in the tournament.

Also competing for Wesleyan was freshman Emilie Lundgren, who went 3-1 in singles action. She teamed with Carole Ateba for a 1-1 doubles mark, while Ateba and Tori Jones each earned one singles victory apiece.

Rounding out the Bishops' line-up were junior Leila Heinonen and freshman Hanna Heitanen with 2-2 records on the singles side.

Wesleyan will now begin preparations for a promising spring slate that is set to kick off in February.
