Wesleyan golf finishes 11th at Shipbuilders Invitational

Williamsburg, VA - The Battling Bishop golf team wrapped up its regular season tournament schedule on Monday at Tuesday at the Shipbuilders Invitational hosted by Newport News Apprentice.  The two-day tournament was held at Ford's Colony Golf Club, a par-72 course in Williamsburg, VA.  Wesleyan turned in an 11th-place finish among the 15-team field and was led by Chris Crews, who turned in his second top-10 finish of the year with rounds of 77 and 78 (+11).

Bridgewater College took top team honors with a two-day 621 (+45), while Pitt Community College's Ryan Campbell earn medalist recognition with rounds of 76 and 74 to finish at six-over.

Also competing for Wesleyan were Daniel Chewning, Steve Lee, David Harris, and Adam Cooper.  As a team, NCWC shot a 350 and 359 for a two-day total of 709.  The Bishop finishes ahead of Louisburg, Chowan, Emory & Henry, and Southern Virginia.

The Bishops will wrap up the 2006-07 season this weekend at the USA South Conference Tournament.  The two-day tourney will be held at Stoney Creek Golf Club in Burlington, NC.
