Wesleyan men stay undefeated, pick up 3-0 win at Marymount

Arlington, VA - Stephen Tupy, Danny Jones, and Justin Thompson each scored goals on Saturday as the North Carolina Wesleyan men's soccer team earned its 13th win of the season, a 3-0 shutout over Marymount University in Arlington, VA.  Oz Otoo notched two assists and Jeff Johnson earned the win in goal for the Bishops, who are now 13-0-1 overall.  With the loss, Marymount drops to 7-8 on the season.

Tupy got Wesleyan on the board at the 19:54 mark when he booted home an Otoo pass.  Jones netted his goal, unassisted, less than three minutes later to give the Bishops a 2-0 lead at the break.

Both defenses held strong for majority of the second half.  Thompson, however, broke through with an insurance goal in the 77th minute on a Bishop corner kick.  Otoo recorded his second assist on the score.

Wesleyan out-shot Marymount 23-9 in the game.  MU goalie Nick Anderesh tallied 11 saves, while Johnson recorded six.

The Bishops complete their weekend road trip on Sunday at St. Mary's College (MD).  Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
