Otoo's double overtime goal lifts Bishop men to 1-0 victory

St. Mary's City, MD - For the third time this season and second time this week, the Bishop men's soccer team of North Carolina Wesleyan was forced into double overtime.  The latest opponent to test Wesleyan's perfect record was St. Mary's College (MD), which watched junior forward Oz Otoo (pictured) score the game-winning goal for the Bishops with 5:54 remaining in the final overtime of Sunday's non-conference match. Danny Jones was credited with the assist as the Bishops improved to 14-0-1 overall on the season.  The Seahawks fell to 5-8 overall with the loss.

Jeff Johnson earned the win in net for Wesleyan by making five saves.

Senior Greg Kamerow started and played the first half in goal for the Seahawks, recording one save. Junior Tim Carrier played the second half and both overtime periods for St. Mary's and took the loss despite making six saves on the day.

The Bishops held an 18-12 advantage in shots, while the Seahawks claimed a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.

Wesleyan travels to Villa Julie next Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. match in Stevenson, MD.  The Bishops will then wrap up their regular season slate at home against Christopher Newport on October 28th.
