Wesleyan soccer downs Mountain State by 7-1 score

Beckley, WV - Junior Alimamy Kargbo (pictured) scored his second and third goals of the season on Sunday afternoon, leading his Bishop men's soccer squad to a 7-1 win at Mountain State University.  Wesleyan built a 4-1 lead at the half and did not look back in moving to a perfect 8-0 on the season.  Oz Otoo also notched two goals for the Bishops, who have now outscored their opponents 41-4 on the season.

Kargbo scored the game's first goal, and junior Danny Jones followed suit with what proved to be the gamewinner.  Salvador Benitez, Jr. and Otoo rounded out the scoring in the first period.

The second half began with an own goal by MSU, followed by Kargbo and Otoo each netting their second goals of the game for the 7-1 final.

Freshman Renato Corte earned his eighth win in goal for the Bishops.

Wesleyan returns home on Tuesday to host Chowan University.  Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m.
