Jason Kilby is entering his sixth season
as the head coach of North Carolina Wesleyan's men's soccer program. In his
five seasons at Wesleyan, Coach Kilby
has led the Bishops to a 62-27-8 overall
record, and a 23-5-4 USA-South Conference record, including back-to-back
undefeated regular season championships in 2004 and 2005.
Coach Kilby took over a struggling NC Wesleyan program in
2002 and led his first Bishops squad to a 9-8-2 overall record. The rebirth
of the soccer program at Wesleyan was put into high gear in 2004 as the
Kilby led Bishops went 16-2-2 overall and 6-0 in the USA South Conference by
winning the regular season and tournament championship for the first time
since 1988. The Bishops earned an NCAA Tournament berth and finished the season ranked #18 in the
nation.
Since that time, Kilby's Bishops have
continued to succeed on the playing field.
Most recently in 2006, Kilby led the Battling
Bishops to a program-best 17-2-2 record, an appearance in the Division III
NCAA Sweet 16, and a #15 national ranking.
Currently, Wesleyan has an
18-game unbeaten streak in regular season USA South play, having turned in a
16-0-2 mark since 2004.
Prior to arriving at NC Wesleyan College, Coach Kilby spent
four years as an assistant coach at Frostburg State University and was
credited with much of the team's success. FSU won the AMCC Regular Season
Championship each of those years and won the AMCC Tournament three times,
with one runner-up finish. In 2000, Frostburg not only won the AMCC Regular
Season and Tournament Championships, but also advanced to the second round
of the NCAA III Tournament. FSU posted an overall record of 56-25-1 during
his tenure on the coaching staff.
Professional soccer is also an accomplishment for Kilby as he has played in
the USL and the USISL, as well as the Moseley Football Club in
London, England. He currently holds a NSCAA Advanced National License, as
well as a USSF "B" License.
Coach Kilby and his wife, Autumn, reside in Rocky Mount.
