Bishop defender
Kris Banghart to play for
U.S. National Team

The North Carolina Wesleyan
Department of Athletics is
pleased to announce that men's
soccer freshman defender Kris
Banghart has been selected to
participate in the Under-20 U.S.
Men's National Team training
camp. Banghart will travel to
Sunrise, Florida from November
12th to the 16th for camp and a
subsequent match against the
Guatemalan U-20 National Team.
The 6'1" Banghart is a native of
Fort Collins, Colorado and has
anchored the defense of
8th-ranked Bishops thusfar in
2006. Wesleyan has
out-scored its opponents 72-7
this season en route to a 15-0-2
overall record and the highest
national ranking in program
history. A middle back, Banghart also has a goal and an
assist to his credit during a
stellar freshman campaign.
The U-20 training camps are
staged and funded by the United
States
Soccer Federation, which
is the national governing body
for soccer within the United
States.
The U-20
Men's National Team competes at
the FIFA U-20 World Cup in odd
numbered years. The U-20s are
currently preparing to qualify
for the 2007 tournament, which
will take place in Canada.
Banghart

be added to the U-20 pool that
Includes such professional
players such as Freddy Adu,
Michael Bradley, Danny Szetela
and Tim Ward. The remaining pool
members are comprised primarily
of Division I players from
around the nation.
