WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT:  Freshman Robert Ivanovich making strides on the pitch

Rocky Mount, NC
- When you join a men's soccer program like that of North Carolina Wesleyan's, you're joining a program that has a combined 30-7-2 record over the past two seasons.  You're joining a program that has won back-to-back regular season conference championships.  You're joining a program that, as of Saturday, is undefeated at 6-0 and has put together a 13-game regular season winning streak against USA South opponents.  It may seem unlikely that a freshman could step in and make an immediate impact, but that is not the case for midfielder Robert Ivanovich (pictured).

Ivanovich has started five of the Bishops' six games, and Saturday, scored his first two collegiate goals against Ferrum.  His first goal, in fact, proved to be the eventual gamewinner.  For his efforts, Ivanovich was named the USA South Rookie of the Week on September 18th, the first Bishop of 2006 to earn the weekly honor.

A native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, Ivanovich is a 2006 graduate of Brentsville High School in Nokesville, Virginia.  He is the son of Johnny and Jenny Ivanovich.

Congratulations Robert!
