honors

Wesleyan Department
of Athletics is
pleased to announce
that senior Chris
Pecora and freshman
Daniel Moore have
earned USA South
weekly baseball
honors for March
24th. Pecora was
tabbed the league's
Player of the Week
and Moore was named
Rookie of the Week
after leading the
Battling Bishops to
a 3-1 record,
including a sweep of
league foe Ferrum
College. This is
each player's first
award of the season.
Pecora (pictured
right), a
senior right fielder
from Henderson, NC,
hit .500 (9-for-18)
with eight runs
scored, four RBI,
two doubles, two
home runs, two
stolen bases, and
one walk. In a 9-7
loss to Tufts,
Pecora hit two home
runs (one from each
side of the plate)
and finished 3-for-5
with three runs
scored and two RBI.
In the doubleheader
sweep of Ferrum, he
was a combined
5-for-9 with five
runs scored, two
RBI, one double, and
one walk.
Moore
(pictured left), a
freshman outfielder
from Nashville, NC,
hit .538 (7-for-13)
with five runs
scored, four RBI,
two doubles, one
walk, and one stolen
base last week. In a
4-3 win over
Virginia Wesleyan,
Moore was 2-for-3
with a run scored, a
double, and a stolen
base. Against Ferrum, he was a
combined 4-for-8
with four runs
scored, three RBI,
one double, and one
walk.
