Galasso tabbed tennis' USA South Rookie of the Week

Fayetteville, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that freshman Jaime Galasso has been named the USA South's Rookie of the Week in women's tennis for April 14th. Galasso (pictured) went 2-0 at #1 singles last week, earning wins over top players from USA South opponents Ferrum and Mary Baldwin. She also turned in a 1-1 record at #1 doubles.

With the two singles wins, the Winston-Salem, NC freshman evened her season record at 9-9. In doubles action, Galasso teamed with Ashley Ball to pick up her third win.

Galasso will lead her Bishops into battle on Tuesday at Ferrum College. The play-in match gives the winner a spot in Friday's USA South quarterfinals in Burlington, NC. Game time is slated for 3:00 p.m.
