WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT: Wesleyan men's & women's hoop squads honor 2009 senior classes

Rocky Mount, NC - Prior to the start of Saturday's men's and women's basketball games versus Ferrum College, head coaches John Brackett and John Thompson took time to honor their 2009 senior classes. On the women's side, the Bishops recognized Essence Chambers, while on the men's side, the Bishops honored Adam Coleman and Buddy Williams.

#23 Essence Chambers
Essence transferred to NC Wesleyan from Lenoir Community College last season and proceeded to earn USA South All-Conference accolades by averaging over 16 points per contest.  In just 49 career games, she has scored 819 points, pulled down 207 rebounds, dished out 179 assists, and collected 168 steals.  A native of Burlington, NC, Essence is majoring in Exercise Science. 

#34 Buddy Williams
Buddy transferred to North Carolina Wesleyan last season from Louisburg College. He has played in 42 games for the Bishops, having scored 267 points and grabbed 196 rebounds. Most impressively, last season saw Buddy lead the entire USA South Conference in field goal percentage at 72.7 percent accuracy.  A native of Middlesex, NC, Buddy is the son of Ethanual and Robin Williams and is majoring in Computer Information Systems. 

#21 Adam Coleman
Adam has played in 101 games and has scored 887 points during his four-year Bishop career.  He ranks second all-time with 824 career rebounds, while tallying an impressive 127 blocked shots and 107 steals.  Additional honors for Adam include being named Co-Most Valuable Player of Wesleyan’s 2006-07 squad, as well as a USA South All-Tournament pick that same season. A Rocky Mount native, Adam is the son of Marcia Baines and is majoring in Computer Information Systems.
