Golf's Idestal picks up first USAC Rookie of the Week award

Fayetteville, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan Department of Athletics is pleased to announce that freshman Kristoffer Idestal (pictured) of men's golf has earned his first USA South Rookie of the Week award. Idestal's selection marks the third straight week that a Bishop player has won the league's weekly honor.  He was chosen after his stellar performance at this week's Shenandoah Fall Invitational.

Idestal, a freshman from Gothenburg, Sweden, shot a two-over par 146 to take medalist honors at the Shenandoah tournament on Sunday and Monday. Idestal led the Bishops to a first-place finish in the two-day tournament, carding a first round 74 (+2) and then following up with an even-par 72 in the final round. He beat out Shenandaoh's Josh Wiegand by one stroke to finish first.
