NCWC volleyball drops three in USA South play

Winchester, VA - The Bishop volleyball team of North Carolina Wesleyan opened up USA South play with a three-game set at Shenandoah University on Friday and Saturday.  Wesleyan fell to the host Hornets on Friday night by a 3-0 score (30-24, 20-19, 30-15).  The Bishops then dropped 3-0 matches to Greensboro (30-22, 30-19, 30-17) and Averett (30-13, 30-16, 30-24) on Saturday.  Wesleyan is now 4-9 overall, 0-3 in league play.

Against Shenandoah, senior April Wilson had 11 kills.  Cristin Jones anchored the defensive effort with eight digs on the night.

Sydney Bens paced the Bishops in Saturday's action, tallying 11 kills and 12 digs versus Greensboro before recording five kills and nine digs against Averett.  Junior setter Caitlin George notched 21 and 10 assists, respectively.

The Bishops will continue USA South play on Tuesday night at Christopher Newport University.  Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
