Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan volleyball squad celebrated Senior Night in style on Friday night, sweeping visiting Shenandoah University by a 3-0 score in Everett Gymnasium.  Game scores were 30-23, 30-12, and 30-22.  Seniors Cristin Jones, Liana Poyer, Casey Spivey, and April Wilson combined for 13 kills, 20 digs, two service aces and six blocks to pace the Bishops. With the win, Wesleyan moves to 11-17 overall, 2-10 in USA South play.  The Hornets are now 13-12 on the season and also 2-10 in league action.

Game one saw the Bishops tally 19 kills as a team with freshman Brittany Insley doing most of the damage with 10 of her own.  Wesleyan trailed only once in the game at 7-6.

In game two, the Bishops recorded their highest single game hitting percentage of the match at .407.  The Hornets recorded their lowest at .030, leading to the 30-12 NCWC win.

Game three proved to be the closest of the match with Wesleyan holding a slim 24-21 lead down the stretch.  The Bishops, however, recorded kills on four of the next six points to seal the three-game sweep.  Poyer ended the game and match with her eighth kill of the night.

As a team, Wesleyan hit a solid .330 in the match, recording 47 kills against just 12 errors.  The Hornets turned in a .121 hitting percentage as a team.
