Bishop volleyball season ends with 3-0 loss to Pride

Greensboro, NC - The 2006 North Carolina Wesleyan volleyball season came to an end on Tuesday night with a 3-0 loss to 3rd-seeded Greensboro College in the first round of the USA South Conference Tournament.  Game scores were 30-22, 30-10, and 30-21.  The 6th-seeded Bishops finish their season with a 12-19 overall record.

Freshman Brittany Insley was the only Bishop to reach double figures.  Her 13 kills against the Pride gave her 456 on the season and left her just two shy of the season record set by Laura Hilbert in 1998.  Caitlin George added 20 assists, while Sydney Bens led the defensive effort with nine digs.

GC's Lauren Smith led all players with 20 kills on the night.

Tuesday's loss marks the end of the collegiate volleyball careers of seniors Cristin Jones, Liana Poyer, Casey Spivey, and April Wilson.
