Bishop volleyball earns two league victories at Peace

Raleigh, NC - The Battling Bishop volleyball squad upped its recent winning streak to seven games on Saturday afternoon, earning two USA South victories at Peace College.  Wesleyan's first win came in a 3-0 sweep over Shenandoah University (30-23, 30-10, 30-11), while its second came against host Peace College by a 3-1 score (22-30, 30-12, 30-18, 30-23).  Wesleyan is now 17-10 overall and boasts an 8-4 conference record.

Against Shenandoah, sophomore Brittany Insley turned in a game-high 19 kills, 11 digs, and six blocks.  Senior setter Caitlin George notched 36 assists and 11 digs of her own.

The Bishops managed 46 kills to the Hornets' 21 in the match.

In the nightcap against Peace, junior Sydney Ben paced the Bishops with 18 kills and 20 digs.  Insley chipped in 17 kills, while George amassed 55 assists and three service aces.  Freshman libero Kelly George tallied 34 digs defensively.

NCWC recorded a .217 hitting percentage in the match compared to the Pacers' .083.

The Bishops return to action at home on Wednesday night when they host Christopher Newport.  Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m.
