Robin Pietryk enters her eighth year at the helm of the North Carolina Wesleyan volleyball program. During her brief tenure with Bishop volleyball, she has already turned in the most successful season in the program's history, a 2004 slate that saw the Bishops record a 22-11 record and fourth-place finish in the USA South.

Pietryk has made a reputation of building programs. She has taken over struggling teams at her previous two stops and made vast improvements record-wise and in conference play.

After coaching stops at East Liverpool High School and Wellsville High School, she started her collegiate coaching career at MacMurray College in Jacksonville, IL. Her teams constantly improved while at MacMurray, and she was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Coach of the Year in 1995. She then moved on to Defiance College in Defiance, OH, and once again her teams continued to improve in the win column.

As a player, Pietryk was a three-time All-Conference PAC volleyball player at Bethany College. She was also a two-time All-Conference performer in softball. She received her bachelor’s degree from Bethany in 1990.

Pietryk also serves as assistant softball coach for the Bishops.  She and her husband, John, have two sons: Christopher and Jeremy.
