Program Overview

NCWC's volleyball program has been running toward the goal of becoming conference champions over the past eight years. During that time, the Battling Bishops have been gaining in technique, knowledge, and skill of the game.

The program has opted for an increasingly tougher schedule each year to gain in ability and team challenges. We knew this was going to be a longer road to achieve success, but the challenge taken has paid off in many ways. The Bishops have seen competition that will allow them to become a regionally recognized team. We now know what it is going to take to reach the top of the charts and we thrive on these competitive encounters.

Our goal is to win the USA South Conference Tournament and to receive a bid to the NCAA tournament. Our program is year-round and both physically and mentally demanding. Our practices are very concentrated and intense. The coaching staff expects the players to give 100% every time they run onto the court.

We also expect our players to be self-motivated. We are looking for student-athletes who understand the importance of their classroom development as well as volleyball development. Our players traditionally hold the highest GPA in athletics and pride themselves on this accomplishment.

NCWC is a NCAA Division III program in the south region. NCAA Division III programs are non-scholarship. All financial aid is based on need and academic excellence.

Finally, our players are good people. We feel that championships are won with quality individuals. We want players of whom our entire community can be proud. They are constantly on display and we try to involve them in community activities. Our players are our program and we expect them to act in a first class manner. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact head coach Robin Pietryk in the volleyball office at (252) 985-5216.
