Bryn Mawr downs Bishop women in soccer action, 2-0

Rocky Mount, NC - The Owls of Bryn Mawr College managed one goal in each half, downing North Carolina Wesleyan by a 2-0 score in Sunday's women's soccer action at Scalf Field.  Michelle Theroux and Wallis Romzek did the damage for the Owls, as Bryn Mawr moves to 3-0-1 on the season.  The Bishops are now 0-1-1.

Theroux broke the scoreless tie with what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 35th minute on a 15-yard shot.  Bryn Mawr took the 1-0 lead into intermission.

The Bishops' best chance to tie the game came midway the second half when Reva McCloud fed Meredith Hester in the box.  Owl goalie Collette Pullion, however, made a diving save to preserve the lead, and Wesleyan would not mount another threat.

Romzek added the insurance goal with 5:06 remaining in the contest when she beat her Bishop defender and connected on a shot 10 yards out.

Bishop goalie Cary Trump tallied eight saves on the day, while Pullion finished with four.  Bryn Mawr out-shot the Bishops 14-8 on the day.

Wesleyan returns to action at home next Saturday when they open up USA South play with Shenandoah at Scalf Field.  Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.  Saturday will also serve as Parent's Day.
