Bishops fall to Cardinals in women's
soccer action, 2-0
Rocky Mount, NC -
Catholic University scored two
unanswered goals in the second half
en route to a 2-0 win over
homestanding North Carolina Wesleyan
in Saturday afternoon women's soccer
action at Scalf Field. Kelly
Andersen and Ashley Dodd did the
honors for the Cardinals, who moved
to 7-3 overall with the win.
The Bishop women are now 3-4-1 on
the season.
Although Catholic out-shot Wesleyan
19-3 in the first half, defense kept
the Bishops in the game.
Goalie Cary Trump turned in a solid
performance with eight saves in the
period, leaving the score knotted at
0-0 at intermission.
Andersen responded with what proved
to be the game-winner in the 48th

defenders and lofted the shot over
an out-stretched Trump.
Dodd added an insurance goal at the
69:36 mark. Chelsea King and
Meghan McGuire were credited with
assists on the play.
Wesleyan found it hard to mount a
serious scoring threat. The
