Library Instruction is crucial for students at NCWC. Here
are the various ways in which we can deliver instruction:
NCWC Course-Related Instruction --
see examples of past sessions here.
The core of the Pearsall Library's instruction is the course-related
sessions, prepared and presented using the faculty member's specific
library-related assignment. Sessions are held in the library's computer
lab/classroom, or sessions can also be held in the faculty member's
classroom.
Consider arranging for a library instructional session if you have a
specific assignment that calls for library resources. The sessions work
best if the assignment is handed out to students prior to the actual
session. Their awareness of the specific library requirements guarantees
their motivation for the session. Sign up now!
Curriculum-Integrated Library Assignments
Curriculum-Integrated assignments are the core of Pearsall Library's information literacy program.
Professional librarians collaborate with course instructors to create assignments that require structured, progressive information literacy
competencies that dramatically
improve student academic performance. Would you like to put a library
research "spin" on an assignment?

Ten Minute Instruction Sessions
During the 10 minute session a librarian will stop by your classroom and
introduce the students to some of the resources available through Pearsall
Library. The librarian will present a guide of resources to the students
and invite them to attend a subject specific workshop or drop-in clinic.
