Dear Battling Bishops Fan,
The 2009-2010 athletics season is
underway, and our Battling Bishops staff is hard at work
preparing for another successful campaign… and we need your help! The
support of our alumni, fans and community is essential to the success of our
programs, and we are inviting you to aid in this effort by joining and/or
renewing your membership in the Battling Bishops Club today!
Last season, our teams captured two
USA South Regular Season Championships, three USA South Tournament
Championships, and three NCAA Tournament berths, while individually, we had
four student-athletes garner Conference Player of the Year honors and 49
earn All-Conference accolades. Most impressively, our student-athletes were
equally as successful in the classroom as we had a school-record 73 students
named to the USA South Academic All-Conference team.
The Department of Athletics hopes to
build on these successes during the 2009-2010 season, but we understand that
a successful athletics program depends the dedication of our staff, the
passion of our student-athletes, and the support of our alumni, fans and
community. As we look to the future of Wesleyan athletics, our BBC members
play a vital role in helping our programs fulfill their most immediate and
pressing needs.
The BBC provides direct support to
these needs. Your 100% tax deductible donation can be designated to the
team/program of your choice or to the department as a whole. Either way,
you will become an integral part of our athletic success here at the
College.
As an individual member of the
Battling Bishops Club, you will receive a membership card that gives you
free admission to all NC Wesleyan athletic events (excluding post-season
tournaments). Other perks include a 10% discount coupon to be used in the
North Carolina Wesleyan Bookstore (excluding books), as well as a chance to
sign up for weekly e-mail updates on all of our sports teams. Our corporate
members will receive additional opportunities for advertisement.
It is our desire to make NC Wesleyan
athletics the very best it can be for our student-athletes now and in the
