Carlstad Crusaders 58
Goteborg 24

We didn’t know much about Goteborg going into the game and had limited film on them. Basically, we're going to have to go on what we had heard from other coaches who had faced them.  We started out the game slow holding ourselves back with penalties, miscommunications, and dropped passes on our first two drives.  Our 1st score came on a 1-play drive as a QB keeper got us on the board from about 50yds out.  From there, we rolled on offense and scored on our next 3 drives.  Our defense gave up 2 scores, keeping Goteborg drives alive on penalties on 3rd and 4th downs, but we blocked one of their extra points and returned it for a 2pt score, so we went into the half up 24-12.

Once again we challenged ourselves to play a perfect 2nd half... and we came close!  To end the 1st half we moved the ball and scored by pounding it away at our opponent, since we struggled in the passing game.  We continued that the 2nd half, scoring on 5 of our 6 possessions, 4 of them rushing.  Early in the 4th quarter, things got nasty on a scramble play as I was pushed out of bounds and hit low and late onto the track that circles the field.  Some teammates retaliated as a flag wasn’t thrown.  The next couple of plays were plagued with penalties as players' tempers flared on both sides.  However, we managed to finished out the game calmly and answered by scoring more.  The final was 58-24.

For the 2nd straight week, we had two 100yd rushers, our running back Marcus Seger and I.  He added 2 touchdowns on the ground, and I added 4.  Stats-wise we rushed for over 350yds, and 7 combined rushing TDs.  I had my best running day ever with over 200yds.  Our extra point kicker was on a roll that ended at 15 in a row, as one bounced off the left up-right.  We play a tough Arlanda Jets team coming up at their place.  It will show us what we’re made of!
