People. The people in our program must meet high standards. We look for players who are self-disciplined, unselfish, and team oriented. We expect everyone in the program to be good people, good citizens, and be the best students they can be. Our main objective is to fully develop our student-athletes, athletically, academically, and socially. We have mandatory study halls and academic seminars on subjects such as time management, note taking, and test taking. Getting the most out of their educational experience and earning their college degree is our number one goal for all our student-athletes.

Fundamentals. On the court we remain consistent. Our emphasis is on teaching the game of basketball. Our team is fundamentally sound, while playing an aggressive, attacking, up-tempo game. Practices are very demanding and extremely organized. The improvement and development of our players over their career is one of the most important aspects of our program.

Tradition.  We have great tradition in our program and are very proud of that.  We compete in the very tough USA South Athletic Conference, where our Tournament Champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  Out of conference, our schedule takes us to places like New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Charleston, SC, and Florida.  Our first conference title was in 1966 and our most recent was 2002.
