Four Bishops named to 2005 NSCAA All-South Region team

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men’s soccer program is pleased to announce that four of its players have received NSCAA All-South Region accolades.  USA South Rookie of the Year Philip Lyding and sophomore Lucas Fuentes were named to the second team, while senior Jon Dyer (pictured) and sophomore Alimamy Kargbo were third team selections.  Dyer and Fuentes were honored at the forward slots, while Lyding and Kargbo were honored in the midfield.  All four were previously honored as first-team All-Conference selections in November.

With ten goals and three assists, Dyer led the Bishops in scoring this past season with 23 points.  In his first season with the Bishops, Lyding became the second consecutive NCWC player to be named Rookie of the Year after notching six goals and nine assists as Wesleyan’s third leading scorer.  Kargbo tallied nine assists on the season, while last year’s USA South Rookie of the Year Fuentes recorded five goals and five assists.
