Wesleyan cross country wraps up 2006 season

Greensboro, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan women's cross country squad wrapped up its 2006 season with a seventh-place finish in Saturday's USA South Conference Championship Meet.  Christopher Newport won its 9th straight league championship with Ashley Ezell (24:32.3) taking home the individual championship at Hagan Stone Park in Greensboro, NC.

CNU completed a sweep of the championship by placing eight runners among the top-10 in the competition. Amy Wampler (25:18.1) and Amanda Fitzhugh (25:34.9) rounded out the top three runners to pace the Captains. 

Shenandoah, who finished second in the team competition with 70 points, placed four runners in the top-20 of the field.

The Bishops were led by freshman Juliana Richardson's 22nd place time of 31:06.3.  Wesleyan tallied 168 team points, finishing 14 points ahead of Ferrum and 33 points behind Methodist.

Also running for the Bishops were Katelyn Guinn, Allie Stylc, Michelle Hill, Alexa Ashworth, and Stephanie Branch.  Official times are below.
