Bishop runners compete at Guilford Quaker 6K Invitational

Greensboro, NC - In their final tune-up before the season-ending USA South Championship Meet, North Carolina Wesleyan's cross country runners competed at the Guilford Quaker Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Greensboro. The 6K meet featured 94 runners among 12 teams, including some of the nation's top Division III performers.

Junior Carole Ateba again paced the Bishops with a team-best time of 28:48 to finish in 59th place.  Senior Juliana Richardson also turned in a solid performance with a time of 29:53. Both Ateba's and Richardson's times are program bests in a 6K meet.

Other Battling Bishop runners included Bristy Parker (33:57), Amanda Frimpong (35:18), and Tori Jones (36:41). Despite a 12th place finish as a team, head coach Dominic Modise was please with his team's improved 6K times.

Emory University took first place as a team with four of the top five finishers, including medalist honors for Eagle runner Jenny Feinberg with a time of 23:15.

The USA South Championship Meet is scheduled for October 31st at 11:00 a.m. in Greensboro.
