Richardson runs in final
USA South meet, Bishops finish eighth
 Greensboro,
NC - Senior Juliana Richardson
ran the final USA South meet of her career on Saturday
morning, leading her Battling Bishops to an 8th-place finish
at the 6K event held in Greensboro. The first four-year
senior in North Carolina Wesleyan cross country history,
Richardson (pictured) turned in a time of 31:21 to finish
45th among 67 runners. She finished behind junior teammate
Carole Ateba, who set a new NCWC record in the meet with a
time of 30:36. more >

Guilford Quaker 6K
Invitational
 Greensboro,
NC
- In their final tune-up
before the USA South
Championship Meet, North
Carolina Wesleyan's cross
country runners competed at
the Guilford Quaker
Invitational on Saturday
afternoon in Greensboro. The
6K meet featured 94 runners
among 12 teams, including
some of the nation's top
Division III performers.

Olive Invitational
 Mt. Olive, NC
- North Carolina Wesleyan’s
cross country squad turned
in solid 5th-place finish at
Friday’s Mount Olive College
Invitational, a 5K meet
featuring six Division II
teams in addition to the
Bishops. NCWC was
led by junior Carole Ateba
(pictured), who turned in a
program-record time of 24:06
to finish 17th among the
field of 43.

- Junior Carole Ateba turned in a
team-best time of 25:38 to pace her
North Carolina Wesleyan cross
country squad at Friday's Reebok
Wolfpack Invitational hosted by NC
State University in Raleigh.
Although Wesleyan finished 10th as a
team, three Bishop runners managed
to shave nearly three minutes off of
their meet times from last week's
Salem Invite.

Bishop runners finish 9th at Salem
to open cross country slate
 Winston-Salem,
NC
- The NCWC cross country
squad opened up its season on
Saturday, finishing ninth among 12
Division I, II, and III teams competing in the
2009 Salem College Invitational.
Carole Ateba led the
Bishops by turning in a team-best
time of 28:13, finishing 43rd among
82 total runners in the 5K race.
As a team, Wesleyan finished just 19
points behind USA South foe
Greensboro College, while the
Bishops beat out Livingstone,
Bluefield State (WV), and Bluefield.
