NCWC women's soccer falls to #24 Washington & Lee, 3-0

Lexington, VA - In non-conference women's soccer action, North Carolina Wesleyan fell to 24th-ranked Washington & Lee by a 3-0 score on Thursday afternoon in Lexington, VA. The Battling Bishops turned in a strong showing defensively and trailed just 1-0 at the break. The Generals, however, managed two more unanswered goals in the second half en route to their 10th victory of the season. With the loss, NCWC drops to 3-9 overall.

W&L's Katie Howard gave the Generals all the offense they would need when she netted a goal in the 16th minute. Allie Espina and Bess Ruff tallied W&L's final two scores in the 58th and 89th minutes, respectively. Emily Leary made one save in goal to preserve the shutout.

For Wesleyan, freshman keeper Tiina Rastiola turned in another solid performance, facing 30 shots in the match and notching nine saves.

Wesleyan returns to USA South action on Saturday when they travel to Peace College for a 2:00 p.m. match-up with the Pacers.
