NCWC women's tennis ends
season at USA South

Wesleyan's tennis squads
wrapped up their regular
season schedules on
Tuesday at Chowan
University. The
Bishop women downed CU
by a 6-3 score, but the
men lost by the same
margin. Wesleyan's
women will enter this
weekend's USA South
Tournament
with a 6-10 record, the
best in program history,
while the men will take
a 5-8 mark into tourney
action.
Including Tuesday's
match with the Hawks,
the Bishop women have
played four
non-conference matches
over the past week and a
half. They began
with a convincing 8-1
win over Salem College
before dropping matches
to Guilford and Barton
by 8-1 and 7-0 scores,
respectively.
Senior Jenna Gollub went
undefeated at #1 singles
during that span.
With a 2-5 league
record, the Bishops will
enter the conference
tournament as the #6
seed. They will
take on
#3 Shenandoah University in
first round action at
1:00 p.m. on Friday.
On the men's side, NCWC
dropped its final three
matches, including a 9-0
defeat at the hands of
USA South foe
Christopher Newport.
They also dropped an 8-1
match at Guilford to
finish at 5-8 overall.
With a 3-3 league
record, the Bishop men
will enter the
conference tournament as
the #4 seed. They
will face #5 Greensboro
College on Friday at
9:00 a.m. in Burlington.
