Baseball's Andrew Webb garners All-South Region accolades

Rocky Mount, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan baseball program and head coach Charlie Long are pleased to announce that pitcher Andrew Webb has earned ABCA (American Baseball Coaches Association) All-South Region accolades for his performance during the 2010 season. Webb was tabbed a Second Team selection after helping lead his Battling Bishops' to their second consecutive USA South Regular Season Championship. This is the first All-Region award of his career.

A native of Rocky Mount, Webb (pictured) posted a 5-2 record with a 2.83 ERA to lead the Wesleyan pitching staff this spring. He also tallied 39 strikeouts and held opponents to a .229 batting average in his first season as a starter. In addition to his All-Region award, Webb was previously tabbed a First Team USA South All-Conference performer for his efforts on the mound.
