NC Wesleyan has made 20 trips to the NCAA tournament, capturing regional titles 12 times. The Bishops won regional titles in 1981, 82, 83, 87, 89, 90, 93, 94, 97, 98, 99, and 2006. The Bishops won the National Title in 1989 and 1999.

Many Wesleyan players have been recognized for their individual accomplishments. The program has produced over 80 first team All-Conference and All-Region performers, while 19 players have signed professional contracts, including Tom D’Aquila who was named the 1993 National Player of the Year. Greg Clark concluded his career with 202 stolen bases: a Division III National record. Scott Forbes also set a single season national record with 27 doubles. Team National records include doubles in a season with 147 in 1997 and strikeouts in a season with 502 in 1998.

Home games are played on campus at beautiful Bauer Field. It is rated one of the finest small college facilities in the country. There are several features that make Bauer Field a great place to play college baseball. The first is the elite playing surface. Secondly, the dugouts are spacious and extend 50 feet, housing personalized lockers for each player. Finally, the facilities surrounding the park are tremendous and include a concession stand/ press box, renovated bleachers that seat 1500 fans, and three fully astroturfed batting cages. Fifty pines border the outfield fence as well as two National Championship signs and a 9-inning scoreboard that stands behind the wall in right-center field.

Our program is demanding both physically and mentally. We want players who love the game and are willing to work to achieve success. Our practices are well organized and our style of play aggressive.  In order to make it in our program, an individual must love to play, be personally disciplined, and team oriented. Our players must also be highly motivated students.  Finally, our players are good people. We feel that championships are won with quality individuals. We want players of whom the entire community can be proud. We accomplish this by performing various types of community service throughout the year.

North Carolina Wesleyan is proud of its baseball tradition. We hope that you will consider attending our institution because it can provide you with an opportunity to play for a National Championship. Furthermore, NC Wesleyan will give you a tremendous college education. Our goal is to make an individual the best he can be both on and off the field.
