Football's Railey named ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District

Rocky Mount, NC - Head Coach Mark Henninger and the North Carolina Wesleyan football program are pleased to announce that senior linebacker Carlos Railey has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.  A native of Stafford, VA, Railey (pictured) was one of three linebackers chosen in District 3 and one of only two players chosen in the USA South.   

Railey has amassed 35 tackles in nine games played this season (14 solo, 21 assisted).  Additionally, he has recorded two sacks and had two interceptions for the 5-4 Bishops. In the classroom, he is majoring in Computer Information Systems.

To be nominated, a player must be at least a sophomore academically and have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.
